RESOURCES

Research shows that attendance is an important factor in student achievement. Students with good attendance are more likely to read on or above grade level, perform on or above grade level in math,  and graduate ready for college and careers. In order to reach these goals, we encourage our students to attend school 95% or more of instructional days. In order to attend 95% or more of instructional days, students cannot be absent for more than TWO days a marking period.

Students who attend 95% or more of instructional days each month, earn the opportunity to attend incentive activities.

Sometimes students have to miss school. In the event that your child misses school, please submit an absence note for the absence to be considered lawful/excused. Scan the QR code under this section named ‘Student Absence Form’ to submit an absence note. Save the card on your fridge or the form to your bookmarks bar for easy access in the event that you child needs to miss school.

Under Pennsylvania law, all students between the ages of six (6) and eighteen (18) must attend school every day. Once a student is enrolled in school, this includes students in kindergarten, they are subject to compulsory school laws until the student reaches age 18. The student can only be withdrawn if they transfer out of the District.
